TOPIC: Moving out – Renting, Buying, selecting roommates
AUDIENCE: 9-12th grade
TITLE: Your first place
This unit was created for a class titled, Life After High School, it was designed to introduce concepts of housing, roommate selection, the cost of living, rental laws and renting vs home owning. Roommate selection is highlighted with the intention of addressing topics of compatibility, finances and general expectations. Additional material related to the topic of housing is also linked.
Students will recognize compatibility considerations for selecting a roommate
Students will identify compatibility requirements for their future roommate selections
Students will create a roommate “want ad” based on their specific requirements and considerations.
Students will identify financial aspects of roommate selection
